As part of the £100m Highways Improvement Programme, contractors will be doing micro -asphalt resurfacing works on roads in Marple North, beginning on 31st March, weather permitting, for about a month.

This is a technique for making good the road surface when the road underneath is fundamentally in good shape.   The road surface will last as long, but wet weather prevents the treatment.  The advantage for residents is that it is relatively quick and, although there will be some disruption, contractors will only close roads between 08:30 and 17:30 at most.

The 43 roads affected across the ward are:-

Cote Green Road, Hillside Grove, Bankside Close, Cote Green Lane, Ernocroft Road, Belmont Drive, Compstall Road, Greenbank Road, Turncliffe Crescent, Merepool Close, Cromwell Avenue, Marina Drive, Claremont Avenue, Isherwood Drive, Weatherley Drive, Oak Drive, Kays Wood Road, Hawthorn Avenue, Beech Avenue, Elmfield Drive, The Drive, Primrose Avenue, Gorse Avenue, Heather Way, Wheelwright Close, Kenilworth Close, Grosvenor Road, Ley Hey Avenue, Manor Road, Green Meadows, Ashwood Crescent, Manor Hill Road, Oakdene Road, Oakdene Gardens, Norbury Drive, Ley Hey Road, Fernwood, Bracken Close, Kemp Road, Clement Road, Clough Avenue, Highfield Road and Fernhill

In addition Orange PCS will install temp traffic lights on Brabyns Brow between Arkwright Road and the station during the day only, between 2 and 7 April.

Strange that someone has allowed Brabyns Brow to have single lane working at the same time that the station has been closed and there is a temporary bus replacement service, could it not have been defeared for a week?
