As well as the emergency measures taken to stop leaks on Station Road by United Utilities this week, these works are proposed.
Strines
There will be flood mitigation works to re-establish an embankment and a culvert on Strines Road, between the junction with Station Road and the borough boundary. These works are scheduled to take place until 14th October 2016. For the first two weeks the works will be on the embankment and will require the use of temporary traffic signals from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm only. For the final 3 weeks the works will be on the culvert and these works will require temporary traffic signals at all times.
Brabyns Park
Work will shortly be undertaken to strengthen a retaining wall in the park. This may affect access to the pavilion .
Marple Bridge
Town St will be resurfaced from Lower Fold to Hollins Lane. This is provisionally programmed to start in January 2017. Due to the narrow nature, one-way working is not possible. However after consultation with all councillors, engineers have proposed closing and working on this for 1 week only from 18:00 to midnight.
Marple
Following on from the Town St work, Stockport Road in Marple will have a similar treatment on the section from the Station Road lights to Church St (near Dolce Vita). This time there will be one-way working with temporary lights.
More details as the time approaches.

Most work going well. However, Station Rd blocked-off again yesterday (23rd), but work completed & awaiting collection of barriers, pathetic.
Can the shrubs/bushes etc. near the Dan Bank lights be cut back virtually impossible to see in Stockport direction, especially if tall vehicle on the turning towards Wyevale side.
Thanks
