Just a quick reminder of approaching road works:
After consulting with councillors and residents (to cause minimum disruption to businesses and residents over Christmas) SMBC are doing road surface relays to major roads as follows (weather permitting):
Starting from 8th Jan (all day Sunday) then during the week from 6 pm until midnight, Town St in Marple Br will be shut and diversions in place.
Starting from Sun, 15th Jan, Stockport Road in Marple (from Station Road to about the Regent Cinema) will be relaid with one-way temp signals.

Parkfield Avenue is being resurfaced at the moment too.
Any chance of Empress Avenue being resurfaced? It is in a sad state of repair with many patch repairs and one large pot hole on its junction with Church Street.
Marple North as an area was done last year; the new administration in Stockport are honouring the commitment to the 9-year £100m road repairs so Marple South’s turn will come soon.
The state of the pavements and roads up on Glossop Rd are appalling. After numerous emails requesting repairs to the pavements outside our cottages, the patch team arrived 3years later, to fill in with Tarmac the marked out areas! The road has been patched up in a similar manner. We are aware of the brand new pavements etc down in Compstall and Marple Bridge. We need reassurance that the much needed attention will be given to this heavily used A626 and the pavements, which incidentally are used regularly by a number of disabled and elderly people! We pay our council tax and feel somewhat disgruntled by the current situation.
Thank you for giving this your attention.
