“I’m sure you’ve seen today’s reports that our Government will be handing over £50 billion to Brussels to leave the EU.  Nobody was told this fact during the referendum. Brexit campaigners said that we would get £350 million extra per week for the NHS but now we will have less, not more, money for our public services.

“At first, Boris Johnson the Foreign Secretary said that the Government wouldn’t pay a penny in a divorce settlement, then the Prime Minister said that it would be £20 billion, and now we find out that the settlement will be £50 billion and is likely to rise further.  This is the money we were promised would go to the NHS instead.

“This is money for nothing.  We are going to pay at least £50 billion for a worse trading relationship with our largest economic partner than we have now.  For higher prices and soaring inflation.  For a weaker NHS and less money for public services.

“It does not have to be this way.  As new facts become clear and as people start to see the reality of Brexit, people have every right to keep an open mind about whether this is really the best future for our country.  That is what Open Britain is campaigning for and we need your help to do it.

“Thank you very much for your support,”
