We promised to bring you details of how to respond to version 2 of this Greater-Manchester-wide plan. To remind Marple and High Lane residents, the proposal includes no building in Marple as part of this but it is proposed that the High Lane development will be reduced from 4000 dwellings to 500, with housing now on both sides of the A6. Some green belt will still be affected. Infrastructure and emission levels are still issues.
Plans will be available for inspection at a drop-in session in High Lane library this Sat, 26 Jan from 10:30 am until noon.
Consultation has now opened and will be closing on 18 March. You can reply online on the following link.

The original plan was 4000 homes over 20 years.
Is the new plan 500 homes over 20 years?
Under the second version of GMSF plans, that is the proposal. However, the overall “need” – the number of houses required – is being challenged by all parties, as is the time period required.
