BUSINESS GRANTS
There is a new grant which will be open on the Stockport Council website at 5.00pm on Monday 18th. This has more discretion involved and is intended for those businesses who have been unable to get a grant so far for various reasons.
Meanwhile so far Stockport has issued 4,720 business grants totalling £54.36m and covering 84% of all businesses eligible. If you haven’t heard yet they are working hard to clear the last applications which probably involve some complications.
HELPLINE
The Council telephone helpline, by 14th May, had taken 3,239 calls and made 943 calls out to the vulnerable residents including welfare calls to our most vulnerable.
NEW GUIDANCE
People probably know that the main government web site has been updated quite a bit lately with the new advice. It’s worth another look and there is, for example, some practical advice on face masks – what to use and how to make one!
