Cllr Shan Alexander has been briefed by a council officers about the latest work on the A6-Relief Road junctions and also about the general way contractors CMS are carrying out the work.
● The temporary traffic signals on the A6 will now be in place during the weekday off peak hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm and, when possible, Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.
● To minimise the duration of the works and disruption to the A6, CMS has coordinated the activities of various utility companies. All traffic management associated with the A6MARR has to be approved by the Council so that it is coordinated with any other works taking place in the area to minimise disruption.
● CMS is minimising the amount of construction traffic using the existing local highway network by
retaining all earth on site so that excavated material is used for either road embankments or landscape.
