Footpath Repairs

by Geoff Abell on 14 June, 2016

Highway Investment Programme, Footway Repairs –  Marple North Ward

Stockport Council is undertaking a programme of repairs across the borough as part of the ‘Investing in Stockport’ initiative.

There is a commitment to invest £100m to improve roads and footpaths across the borough over a nine year delivery period. This funding will be used to carry out a range of repairs from patching to resurfacing in targeted areas which will provide a long term solution to the deterioration on the highway network.

As part of the programme, Stockport Council will be carrying out footway repairs, resurfacing or reconstruction works within the ward on a rolling program, as listed.
Cromwell Ave; Constable Drive; Gainsborough Ave; Manor Road; Fairview Drive; Marsland Road; Alan Drive; Clement Road; Oakdene Road; Winston Close; Marina Drive; Norbury Drive; Oak Drive; De-Wint Close; Bradshaw Road; Hawthorne Ave; Stiles Ave; Ley Hey Ave; Beech Ave; Fernwood; Bowden Lane; Kayswood Road; Hollins Lane; Fernhill; Kemp Road; Cote Green Road; Parkfield Ave; Charles Ave; Bankside Close; Ley Lane; Hillside Grove.
The first 2 schemes are due to start Monday 4th July 2016, weather permitting by our in house company Solutions SK,

Access to properties will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses. Property owners who are directly affected will receive a letter outlining the scope of the work and timescales involved as the works progress.

The Council trust that not too many will be inconvenienced by this work.

Is the council waiting for somebody to get killed on the Dooley lane pathway to the garden centre before they widen the pavement which is less than 2 ft. Wide in places?
