News and comments making Marple a better place to live, work and play Learn more

As the election draws near and the first votes by post are being cast, it’s important to know what sort of MP we want in the constituency that includes Marple and High Lane.
The realistic choice is between a Tory candidate that supported the snooper’s charter, a hard Brexit and all the “nasty” elements that May has to offer: the heartless cuts to local schools, to our NHS and to benefits for the disabled & bereaved.
Or Lisa Smart. A hard-working councillor who will fight against the cuts in school funding and the dangerous cuts to our NHS. A woman who gets things done, whether on green belt, council finance, Stepping Hill Hospital or recycling.
A vote for Lisa Smart is a vote for someone who will work hard, all year, every year. That’s what people here deserve.
